“What is your book on the go?”

This is my favourite question, and I ask it a lot – hence the name of this blog. Come on, how can you be happy if you’re not in the middle of a great book? Well, that’s just my opinion, of course. However, if you are reading this, then you probably agree with me and are looking for your next great read, seeking out recommendations and even time saving warnings.

I started writing reviews for myself years ago – weirdly, I never included spoilers; it was like I always knew there would be a real audience one day! I have a terrible memory, and I was often asked what I thought of books I know I had read…and couldn’t remember! Frustrating. So, my reading journal was born and up until now my reviews have been my own private resource. But hey, in this globalised, sharing world it seems selfish to keep my ramblings and rants to myself, so my blog is now born. Plus, it’s way more fun to write for a real audience!

So, I hope you enjoy my personal reflections on the books I read. I read a lot, but I will do my best to keep you updated.

I finish with a reminder quoted from a favourite song of mine: Wear Sunglasses by Baz Luhrmann. In it, he warns that we all have opinions but that does not necessarily mean they are in any way more valid or valuable that anyone else’s; after all, ” they have no basis more reliable than my own meandering experience”

Oh, and get a book on the go!
